But the latest Battlefield is striving to shift that dynamic.
Here comes the most recent addition in a long-standing combat FPS series frequently described as a grittier alternative to Call of Duty.
The franchise has never quite managed to rival its best-known competitor in terms of revenue or players, but indicators suggest the latest version could close the gap.
An early access weekend enabling players a shot to experience the title not long ago set new benchmarks, and the buzz approaching its release has been immense.
But the endeavor is still a major risk for company its creators, which has reportedly allocated huge sums of funds producing it.
Our team has talked to some of the makers to discover how they aim it will succeed.
Creation Group and Developer Partnership
Several development houses were creating the project under the unified development umbrella.
They include original series creator the original team, located in Europe, Los Angeles-based Motive Studios and Ripple Effect in the Great White North.
One more, the UK studio, is based in the UK.
A key leader is the executive of the both continental studios, and shares with reporters that, in respect of what it's offering users, "Battlefield 6 is probably unmatched."
Responding To Previous Mistakes
The new release comes off the release of the advanced the last installment, launched four years ago to a unfavorable feedback it had difficulty to overcome.

Another missing component from the last game was a solo experience, which has been restored this time around.
The UK studio design director Fas Salim is the one tasked with "guaranteeing those missions are as entertaining and engaging as can be for the players."
Regardless of claims that the size of the title had created pressure for the various studios collaborating internationally to create the title, Fas is upbeat about the process.
"Partnering with varied perspectives, distinct backgrounds, it's a very fascinating setting to be engaged with every day," he shares.
"This entire method has been a fresh take but additionally really thrilling because we are collaborating with team members from around the globe."
As for the anticipation on the crew, the director states: "We experience stress but also it's exciting.
"It's a big undertaking. It's likely the most significant that the majority of the team have previously worked on."
Young Developer Adds Innovative View
That's certainly true of no less than an individual developer, VFX specialist Vlad.
The 21-year-old produces the lighting elements that influence the tone, tone, and narrative of the single-player campaign.
Vlad undertook an internship at Criterion before obtaining a job with them, and presently operates part-time while finishing his VFX degree at his school.
The developer says he's a dedicated enthusiast of the games, and recalls playing the previous game of the franchise at a friend's house when he was a child.
Being on it currently, as his initial professional role, "is hard to believe as actual."
"It's really amazing observing the advertising all around," he shares.
"Understanding that I have contributed my individual work into the project is really unbelievable."
