Jurgen Klopp admits rejoining to lead Liverpool is conceivable.

The German coach, who left Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that returning someday remains a possibility. Klopp, following a hugely successful near-decade reign that included Champions League success and ending the club's long wait for three decades, currently occupies roles overseeing worldwide football within the Red Bull organization and as an advisor to Germany's league body.

Supporters’ Hopes and His Frank Comments

Liverpool won the Premier League last season, though countless followers who revere Klopp would embrace the notion that he might come back one day. Speaking candidly, he shared with his interviewer: “I declared I won't manage another team in England. So that means in case it's my former club...yeah. In theory, it could happen.”

“Being 58, that means the choice could be mine in a few years, it's uncertain. Must I choose now? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe what the future brings.”

What Would Lure Him Back?

When asked about the specific conditions would have to unfold to tempt his return to the dugout, he confessed he feels no immediate pull to such a return. “It's unclear to me, My present work fulfills me,” he stated. “No longing for management; I avoid standing in the rain through long matches; I'm glad to skip media briefings four times, three times a week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“The locker room isn't missed per se, but sitting in a restaurant with the team talking freely, is pleasant. Success was frequent thus frequently a very good mood at the club. Remaining with me is Virgil [Van Dijk’s] laugh ringing in my ears as an instance.”

Praise for His Successor

He commended of the current boss, praising him for the adjustments which secured the championship last term. The team has suffered a string of losses in all competitions after a summer spending spree, but he rubbished the idea it could be the start of a downward turn.

“[Liverpool have] a top-class attacker like Florian Wirtz, you will all eat your words with negative comments. He’s an incredible talent. Ekitike, incredible player. It’s a really good thoughtfully assembled roster. Fans shouldn't fret over the club, things will improve.”

Emotional Tribute for the Late Forward

Klopp also spoke emotionally on the loss of Diogo Jota, a player he signed in 2020, and its impact at the club. Jota was killed in a road accident with his brother in July.

“Who can fill the void of somebody like Diogo? This isn't just regarding his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the squad without him in it. I still cannot speak properly on this topic. A devastating blow for all the boys also. Nobody at Liverpool would cite it for poor performances but it is the situation. Entering the changing area which he filled completely. Coping with it individually is difficult. Unbearable.”
