Former Doctor Faces Sexual Assault Allegations Against Thirty-Eight Individuals in His Care
Legal authorities have announced that a former physician now faces charges for performing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Serious Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Legal teams have diligently worked to support a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the evidence to establish that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations follow what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:
- 15 counts of sexual assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempting to assault by penetration.
